In a significant move, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly ratified amendments to the Goods and Services Tax Act on Friday, originally passed in the GST Council.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spearheaded the bill's presentation, which swiftly passed through a voice vote, confirming the state's alignment with the federally approved GST framework.
Despite BJP MLA Pawan Gupta's call for additional amendments, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather dismissed the request, emphasizing that no changes could be entertained at this legislative stage.
