In a politically charged statement, Samajwadi Party's Abu Asim Azmi expressed support for the Maha Vikas Aghadi's planned rally against alleged irregularities in the voter list, criticizing the Election Commission's inaction. Azmi highlighted evidence provided by Congress's Rahul Gandhi concerning 'vote chori', underscoring the claim that numerous votes have originated from outside the designated areas.
Azmi's allegations coincide with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) demands for a revision of electoral rolls before the local polls, with MNS chief Raj Thackeray spotlighting nearly 9.6 million 'fake voters'. The demand for deletion of these names is stirring significant political discourse ahead of critical elections.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut called out purported 'match-fixing' by the Bharatiya Janata Party, threatening a large-scale protest against the Election Commission. This rally, championed by prominent opposition leaders like Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, is set to take place on November 1, intensifying the pressure on electoral authorities.
