Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday leveled strong accusations against the Trinamool Congress, alleging the party's systematic opposition to policies designed to benefit the nation. Ghosh expressed his unequivocal trust in the Election Commission of India (ECI), asserting that the body conducts its operations devoid of bias.

He emphasized that none of the political factions, including the Trinamool Congress, lodged official complaints against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Ghosh reassured the public that the integrity of electoral rolls remains intact, with genuine voters' names secure and any attempts to register duplicate voters met with stringent action.

The BJP leader further underscored the importance of barring foreign nationals from obtaining voting rights through the SIR initiative, calling for the West Bengal government's full cooperation. The SIR's first phase commenced in Bihar in September, with the second phase slated to span multiple states and territories, culminating in published electoral rolls by February 2026.
