The political landscape in Goa is heating up as the Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) have leveled serious accusations against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. They claim Sawant is stirring public sentiment against them by misrepresenting their stance on the controversial Mhaje Ghar scheme.

GFP president Vijai Sardesai expressed alarm over Chief Minister Sawant's public assertions, stating that their opposition stems from the fact that a significant majority—80%—of the scheme's beneficiaries are non-Goans who have allegedly encroached on land illegally. Sardesai emphasized that only a fraction of Goans stands to benefit from the initiative.

In a joint press briefing with RGP head Manoj Parab and MLA Viresh Borkar, Sardesai warned of the real danger of opposition leaders being targeted by agitated parties, potentially incited by Sawant's rhetoric. He urged the Chief Minister to refrain from using legislative debates to sow discord among citizens.
