On Friday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed swirling rumors about his political successor, clarifying that his son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, did not officially name anyone for the position.

Yathindra's earlier comments, suggesting the need for a leader with progressive thinking, were seen as endorsing Minister Satish Jarkiholi. This added to the speculation of leadership transition, particularly when reports hinted that Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar might take over based on an existing rotational formula.

Siddaramaiah, who aims to complete his five-year term, expressed frustration, attributing the confusion to media distortion of Yathindra's words. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar indicated discussions with relevant parties but remained non-committal publicly.
