Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot arrived in Patna on Wednesday, prior to the Bihar assembly elections, and dismissed significant conflicts within the Mahagathbandhan alliance. He emphasized that minor seat differences are normal in state-level coalitions, downplaying any major friction.
Gehlot, tasked by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) as Senior Election Observer, is set to meet with Bihar's Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who is contesting from Raghopur. Gehlot expressed confidence that all disputes would soon be resolved.
Despite overlapping candidate lists from RJD and Congress in some constituencies, a compromise is anticipated. The Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD and including Congress and left parties, will face the National Democratic Alliance, with elections slated for November 6 and 11, followed by results on November 14.
