On Tuesday, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor launched an attack on Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, questioning his commitment to the Bihar Assembly polls. Kishor accused Gandhi of participating merely to negotiate more seats with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, implying his disconnect with Bihar's developmental needs.
Speaking to ANI, Kishor remarked that Gandhi's engagement with Bihar was limited to election times when he would visit, hold a handful of rallies, and then withdraw focus from the state. He contended that the Congress MP treats Bihar as an electoral chore, rather than a priority.
Kishor urged Biharis to be wary of visiting leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, who only appear during elections, make grand speeches, influence the electorate, and then neglect the state's challenges for the next five years. As Bihar gears up for its 2025 elections, competition is expected between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan, while Kishor's Jan Suraaj also aims for all 243 seats.
