Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) Chief Mukesh Sahani on Tuesday dismissed speculations suggesting that his party's candidate from the Tarapur Assembly Constituency had defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sahani clarified that Sakaldeo Bind, the individual causing the stir, had run as an independent before pledging support to the BJP, but he is not officially associated with VIP.
Speculation arose after Bind, misidentified as a VIP candidate, joined forces with Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, who is also contesting from Tarapur. Sahani, while attending the inauguration of VIP candidate Umesh Sahani's election office in Darbhanga, assured Mahagathbandhan's success in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
"Our candidate has not joined the BJP; this is a misunderstanding," Sahani told reporters, reiterating VIP's commitment to Mahagathbandhan. Referring to the scheduled polling on November 6 and 11, Sahani highlighted that VIP had released a candidate list featuring key figures like Santosh Sahani and Umesh Sahani, intending to bring substantial political change after years of stagnation.
