The directive comes after media reports highlighted the tragic incident involving Muhammed Adam, a young boy from Kottayam district, who visited the park on April 21. Upon realising Adam was missing during a school trip lunch, a search ensued, leading to his discovery in the swamp. Despite swift medical intervention, Adam was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An official inquiry will determine if the park held the necessary licenses from local authorities and if preventive measures are adequate. Both the RDO and the Kizhakkambalam panchayat secretary must submit findings and attend a commission meeting on May 19 to discuss further actions.
