Local residents promptly stepped in and rescued the passengers, transporting them to nearby hospitals for immediate medical assistance. Five individuals who sustained serious injuries were initially taken to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital before being transferred to more advanced facilities in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The state Transport Department has facilitated train tickets for the remaining passengers to ensure they reach their destination safely. Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the unfortunate mishap.
