Drone Mishap: Inquiry into Botched Police Operation in Pakistan

Three station house officers in Sindh province, Pakistan, have been suspended following a flawed police operation that resulted in the deaths of four civilians, including two children. The operation, intended to target suspected dacoits using a drone, instead claimed unintended victims, leading to significant public outcry.

The incident took place in Saeed Lakho village near Khairpur town and resulted in public protests by the Dharija community, who blocked a national highway to express their grievances. This has caused severe disruptions to traffic and highlighted the local population's discontent.

Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hasan Lanjhar announced a comprehensive investigation into the operation, stating that an inquiry committee has already suggested legal and departmental action against the involved officers. Investigations are ongoing and may result in the arrests of the officers.
