Legal Eagle Nalwa Takes Charge in Pahalgam Terror Trial

The NIA filed a chargesheet implicating six individuals and terrorist organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and TRF, linking the attack to Pakistani conspiracies.

The Centre has appointed noted lawyer Karambir Singh Nalwa as the Special Public Prosecutor to spearhead the trial in the Pahalgam terror attack case. This grim anniversary marks a year since the attack claimed 26 lives, including 25 tourists and a pony operator.
The Union Home Ministry exercised its powers under relevant acts to appoint Nalwa, underscoring the seriousness of the case. The trial will be conducted at the NIA special court in Jammu and the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The NIA, in its comprehensive chargesheet, implicated six individuals and identified two terrorist organizations, linking the attack to Pakistani elements. Notable figures, Hafeez Saeed and Sajid Jatt, are among those named for orchestrating the plotted attack.
