The Election Commission of India came under fire from the Congress party after it issued a 'stern notice' to party chief Mallikarjun Kharge regarding his controversial comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kharge had called the Prime Minister a 'terrorist' while addressing an AIADMK-BJP alliance, suggesting Modi was 'terrorising' political opposition by leveraging government machinery.
In response, Congress communications head Jairam Ramesh claimed the EC had shown bias aligning itself with the Union home ministry, thus undermining constitutional integrity.
