On Wednesday, arguments were presented in the defamation case involving the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. The local MP-MLA court has reserved its order for May 2. The hearing centered on an application under Section 311 of the CrPC.
This section allows the court to recall any witness if deemed necessary for a fair trial. Lawyers from both sides provided their arguments, with Gandhi's counsel indicating that submissions were made by the complainant's lawyer. The previous court hearing occurred on April 17.
The defamation case, initiated in 2018 by BJP politician Vijay Mishra, revolves around alleged voice samples to be matched against a forensic CD. Gandhi denies the allegations, labeling them a political ploy. The court's decision is awaited as the legal battle continues.
