Nellore district police have successfully dismantled a major online IPL cricket betting racket with the arrest of 12 individuals. The syndicate, consisting of 14 members, was primarily managed by main organizer Shaik Fariyaz and associate Konduru Vasu. Two suspects remain absconding as police efforts to locate them continue.

The racket was unearthed following close surveillance activities, which led to a raid on April 19 at a private hotel in Magunta Layout. The police seized significant evidence, including over Rs 2 lakh cash, 13 mobile phones, and a television, while financial operations were found spread across 28 bank accounts.

The orchestrated betting activities utilized the Radhe Exchange platform and numerous banking channels for money transfers, amounting to over Rs 37 lakh in transactions. Legal actions have been initiated under multiple sections, and youth have been cautioned on the risks of engaging in online betting.
