Jetour Aims for Global Expansion: Tripling Sales by 2030
Jetour, a Chinese SUV manufacturer, plans to more than triple its sales to 2 million units by 2030, with half aimed at international markets. The company is expanding globally, with new markets in Brazil, Poland, Australia, and Europe. Intense domestic competition drives Chinese automakers to look globally.
Chinese SUV maker Jetour is ambitiously planning to more than triple its sales by 2030, targeting 2 million units, with half of those from overseas markets, according to top company executive Ke Chuandeng. The move comes as China's automakers are increasingly turning their focus beyond their domestic market due to fierce competition at home.
Operating under the Chery automotive group, Jetour's sales last year rose 11% to 620,000 vehicles, with international markets comprising 40% of that total. The company recently launched operations in Brazil and Poland and is planning to enter Australia and additional European markets by the end of the year.
Despite intense competition in China's domestic market, Jetour intends to maintain its market presence by introducing two to three new electric models each year. The company's expansion efforts mirror broader trends among Chinese automakers, such as state-owned Changan and Dongfeng, who are also targeting international growth.
