In a move to fortify strategic partnerships, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul in Bangkok on Friday. The discussion centered on enhancing cooperation against transnational crime and cyberscams, according to Thai government spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek.
Anutin expressed gratitude for China's ongoing support, while Wang extended congratulations on Anutin's election win, underscoring confidence in the future of Thailand-China relations. The meeting at Government House featured a warm handshake and photo opportunities.
Wang's visit, part of a three-day itinerary after engagements in Cambodia, highlights China's role as Thailand's largest trading partner. Diplomacy between the countries has blossomed, marked by last year's 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and increased Chinese investment due to production shifts to avoid US tariffs.
