In Goa, the local police have intensified efforts to locate right-wing activist Gautam Khattar after his comments against St Francis Xavier sparked widespread controversy, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The case, now under the state police's Crime Branch, has resulted in complaints lodged at over a dozen locations, including Vasco and Panaji. Khattar's remarks went viral following an event attended by notable figures, further amplifying tensions.
Law enforcement, led by Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta, has mobilized several teams to find Khattar. The case, deemed sensitive for communal harmony, is being closely monitored, said Deputy Inspector General of Police Ved Prakash Surya.
