In a significant move against drug-related activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police attached properties valued at over Rs 55 lakh, owned by two alleged drug peddlers from Baramulla and Anantnag districts. This operation is part of the 'nasha mukt Jammu and Kashmir abhiyaan', a sustained campaign against narcotics.

The police seized an immovable property worth Rs 45 lakh in Baramulla, linking it to a narcotics smuggler, while a movable property worth Rs 10 lakh in Anantnag was confiscated from a local drug peddler. These assets are believed to have been acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking in Udhampur district.

The properties, consisting of a residential house, a car in Baramulla, and a taxi car in Anantnag, were attached under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Until now, Udhampur Police have attached properties totaling Rs 80 lakh as part of their intensified anti-drug efforts.
