An explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Maharashtra's Palghar district claimed two lives and left four others seriously injured on Tuesday, according to law enforcement authorities.
The incident unfolded around noon in a makeshift factory located in Wada taluka, Konsai village. The explosion resulted from a chemical mixing process, affecting 35 workers, predominantly women, who were present during the incident.
Police have confirmed the deceased as Bhavesh Dileep Vavare and Monica Sachin Padvale. The explosion raises significant safety concerns, prompting an investigation into whether the unit adhered to necessary legal and safety standards. A search is underway to locate the facility's owners.
