Himachal Pradesh Advances with Strategic Office Relocation
In a bid to decongest Shimla, the Directorate of Communication & Technical Services has relocated to Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. This move, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and regional development, aligns with the state’s goal of administrative decentralization. The transition promises improved decision-making and technical support for police operations.

The Directorate of Communication & Technical Services office of Himachal Pradesh has been shifted from the bustling city of Shimla to the more strategically placed town of Hamirpur, the state police announced on Monday.
This relocation, announced by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in the budget earlier this year, is part of an initiative to decongest Shimla and promote balanced regional development across the state.
Director General of Police Asho Tewari, in a press release, detailed that the move will bolster infrastructure, bringing critical services closer to field operations, thus enhancing responsiveness and coordination across all districts.
