A liquor businessman's family was reportedly held hostage by their domestic help and his associates, in a dramatic theft at their Golf Links residence. The criminals allegedly took Rs 25 lakh worth of jewellery.
The incident unfolded around 6 pm on Thursday, as six individuals entered the house, confining the Chawla family and forcing them to surrender valuables. The ordeal, while frightening, left family members physically unharmed.
Investigations indicate the domestic help, Sushil, facilitated the entry, having possibly conducted a pre-robbery reconnaissance. Teams are reviewing CCTV footage and exploring the suspects' escape routes. Raids are actively underway in multiple states to apprehend the culprits.
