Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for Census 2027 with an innovative digital approach, as announced by Director of Census Operations, J Nivas. The operation will commence on April 16 marking a shift from traditional methods to digital self-enumeration, reflecting a major evolution in data collection practices.
The census will be conducted in two phases—Houselisting and Housing Census, and Population Census—entirely in digital format. The initiative introduces a self-enumeration feature for the public, who will log in using mobile numbers and submit details online, promising confidentiality and data protection.
Covering all socio-economic aspects, the census aims to assist governance and policy-making while ensuring wide participation through multi-language support. Both urban and rural needs will be addressed, enhancing infrastructure and resource allocation across the state, making it a pivotal part of Andhra Pradesh's administrative strategy.
