KPCC chief Sunny Joseph announced on Saturday that Congress has accumulated around Rs 5.38 crore in its special account designated for Wayanad landslide rehabilitation, utilizing the funds to buy land for housing the victims.
Joseph explained that the Youth Congress also collected Rs 1.05 crore for this cause, and the collected amount facilitated the purchase of nearly 5 acres of land in two phases. Due to insufficient funds, an extra Rs 97 lakh was sourced from KPCC accounts.
Joseph revealed financial transparency amid scrutiny from the Left Front over the fund's use, asserting the Congress's self-reliance due to inadequate governmental aid. Furthermore, allegations surfaced against election authorities in Kannur for bias favoring CPI(M).
