Gold Scam Unveiled: Jewelers Duped by Multi-State Fraudster

Jeevaram Vani Chaudhary, a 46-year-old man, was arrested for allegedly cheating jewelers in Thane and Bhiwandi during the 2025 Diwali by promising high-quality gold and disappearing with advance payments. The police recovered gold bars worth Rs 2.3 crore and cash from him after a multi-state investigation.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on charges of cheating jewelers in Thane and Bhiwandi during Diwali 2025. The accused, Jeevaram Vani Chaudhary, allegedly promised to supply high-quality gold but disappeared after receiving advance payments.

Gold bars worth Rs 2.3 crore and cash were recovered from his possession following an extensive multi-state investigation led by the Crime Branch Unit-1, as per the police release.

Chaudhary, who hails from Rajasthan, was finally nabbed by a team led by police sub-inspector Deepak Ghuge. The team tracked him to Pali district in Rajasthan, recovering gold bars weighing over 1.9 kg and Rs 17.5 lakh in cash. Further investigations continue.
