In a swift police operation, two individuals were apprehended in connection with the recent murder of a businessman in Jharkhand's Palamu district. The arrest followed a brief but intense encounter, resulting in one of the accused sustaining injuries.
The confrontation occurred in the Panki-Terhasi police station jurisdiction, where police, acting on a tip-off, encountered Faiz Khan. Upon being cornered, Khan opened fire on the officers, leading to a retaliatory exchange in which he was shot in the legs, as confirmed by Palamu SDPO Rajeev Ranjan.
The deceased, identified as Sameer Khalifa, was fatally shot in Palika Bazaar. Engaged in the land and wholesale bag-trading businesses, Khalifa's murder motives remain a mystery. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.
