Unchanging Amaravati: Naidu Celebrates New Capital Recognition

In an emphatic declaration, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu proclaimed Amaravati as the legally recognized and unchangeable capital of the state. The statement came after both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, reinforcing Amaravati's status as the greenfield capital.

Addressing the farmers who contributed land for the capital at a celebratory event in Uddandarayapalem village, Naidu criticized the opposition party YSRCP for proposing alternative capital plans and encouraged the populace to embrace Amaravati as a world-class city.

Naidu commended the efforts of the Amaravati farmers and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support. He reiterated his commitment to developing Amaravati, promising state-of-the-art infrastructure and additional megacities, while condemning the YSRCP for their past actions regarding the capital.
