In a significant financial move, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken steps to clear dues amounting to ₹7,358 crore, originating from the previous YSRCP government. This was announced following a high-level review with the finance department on Thursday.

Naidu confirmed that more than ₹1,800 crore towards provident fund dues has already been credited directly into employee accounts, alongside ₹76 crore under group life insurance catering to around 4,800 beneficiaries. Continuing efforts involve ₹3,411 crore for gratuity dues and ₹1,800 crore towards leave encashment for retired employees. Additional €223 crore for surrendered leave dues for police personnel is also underway.

The Chief Minister highlighted the undue financial burden caused by the previous administration’s misallocation of employee funds. In addition, Naidu addressed pending contractor payments, ensuring that ₹614 crore is settled and emphasized prioritizing cleared dues for small contractors.
