Manipur Policeman Nabbed with Heroin Stash in Mizoram
A Manipur policeman and his associate were arrested in Mizoram for possessing over 1 kg of heroin. The arrest, conducted during an operation in Khuangpuilam, also led to the seizure of an SUV used for transporting the contraband. They face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

A police officer from Manipur and his associate were apprehended by authorities in Mizoram's Kolasib town for the possession of over one kilogram of heroin. The duo was intercepted on Wednesday during an operation by the excise and narcotics department in the Khuangpuilam area, near the Assam border.
Peter Zohmingthanga, spokesperson for the department, confirmed that officials seized an SUV bearing a Manipur registration, allegedly used for trafficking the drugs to Silchar in Assam. The narcotics haul weighed approximately 1.215 kilograms, Zohmingthanga added.
The accused individuals, aged 44 and 24, hail from Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts in Manipur. They have been charged under section 21 (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and presented before the Kolasib district and session court.
