The Congress party has made a fervent appeal to President Droupadi Murmu, urging her not to accept the 'technical resignation' of IAS officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee. The party also called on the Uttar Pradesh government to assign appropriate work to Rahee, citing the officer's prolonged lack of responsibilities despite his position.
Rajendra Pal Gautam, chairman of the Congress SC Department, highlighted the challenges faced by Dalit officers like Rahee who work tirelessly to succeed in their roles but still encounter harassment. He recalled the past threats and attacks Rahee faced when he exposed a significant embezzlement scam.
Currently stationed at the Board of Revenue in Lucknow, Rahee clarified that his resignation was procedural rather than an exit from public service. He emphasized his respect for the constitutional system and advocated for accountability-driven governance, expressing his sense of unsuitability within the current administrative setup.
