In a crucial dialogue held at the Parliament House complex, Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh engaged with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the ongoing law and order concerns plaguing the state.
The talks, occurring on Wednesday morning, focused around speeding up the ongoing peace process and fostering unity among diverse communities, according to a statement from the Manipur government.
A significant outcome was Shah's approval in principle for a Mahila India Reserve Battalion dedicated to Manipur. This development comes amid ethnic tensions between Meitei and Kuki communities, which have claimed numerous lives since May 2023.
