The suspect, Sandhu Ponnachan, aged 36, faced Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on multiple counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, attempted grievous bodily harm, and possession of a bladed article. He did not enter a plea and remains jailed pending trial.
