Tehsildar Suspended Amid Bribery Scandal in Maharashtra
Vyankatesh Munde, tehsildar of Parli Vaijnath in Beed district, has been suspended after being arrested by ACB for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 for a solvency certificate. Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar issued the suspension following Munde's arrest on February 20 for soliciting Rs 7 lakh, later negotiated to Rs 20,000.

A tehsildar in Maharashtra's Beed district has faced suspension following his arrest in a bribery case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Vyankatesh Munde, tehsildar of Parli Vaijnath, allegedly for demanding Rs 50,000 as bribe in exchange for a solvency certificate.
Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar confirmed the suspension of Munde, who was arrested last month. The bribe was reportedly solicited as part of issuing a solvency certificate worth Rs 7 lakh, though the amount was negotiated down to Rs 20,000.
Munde's suspension was implemented due to his 48-hour absence from his office post-arrest. He has now been reassigned to the Jalna headquarters, requiring permission from the Jalna collector for any leave from this new assignment.
