A six-year-old girl in Chhawla, southwest Delhi, was allegedly raped by a man known to her family, police said Tuesday. The incident surfaced when the girl disclosed it to her mother, who alerted authorities.
The accused, operating a nearby shop, allegedly took the child to his premises where the assault occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest potential previous incidents, said a senior police official.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act. Authorities arrested the accused and provided the child with medical care while her statement is being legally documented.
