Karnataka Chief Minister Criticizes Ministers for Unanswered Legislative Queries

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has criticized his cabinet ministers for their delays in addressing questions posed by legislators, which have led to significant embarrassment for the government and affected the dignity of the legislative process.

In a recent letter to ministers, Siddaramaiah highlighted the backlog of unanswered questions, revealing that out of 245 questions from the 16th Karnataka Legislative Assembly sessions, only 90 have been adequately responded to as of now. The Chief Minister has urged immediate corrective measures by the departments to rectify this issue.

This reprimand comes in the wake of strong disapproval shown by Speaker U T Khader, who adjourned a session due to the inadequate replies provided by government departments. Siddaramaiah emphasized the need for timely responses, hinting at possible strict actions, including issuing notices, against officials failing to address pending queries promptly.
