Bomb Threat Shocks Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan Amid Budget Session

On Thursday, Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai received a bomb threat via email amid the ongoing budget session. Police conducted an extensive search but found nothing suspicious, officials reported. A preliminary probe indicated the threat was a hoax.

The incident sparked concerns among lawmakers, leading a Shiv Sena (UBT) member to demand a government statement. Nearly 350 legislators gather at the sprawling Nariman Point complex, where security has been significantly increased following the threat.

Authorities safely evacuated individuals from the premises, and the city police's bomb squad conducted thorough checks. Despite the absence of a credible threat, an investigation to trace the email's sender remains ongoing.
