Goa Assembly Speaker Cautions Ministers Against Unruly Conduct

Goa Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar has issued a strong warning to ministers, urging them to refrain from disruptive behavior during the present budget session of the state assembly. He noted a troubling trend of government officials engaging in shouting matches and hurling personal insults at other members.

Gaonkar emphasized that such actions contradict the principles outlined in the Third Schedule of the Indian Constitution. These guidelines require ministers to execute their responsibilities with integrity. The Speaker refrained from pinpointing specific incidents but conveyed his disappointment in the observed conduct.

The Goa assembly's budget session, an essential period for state governance, commenced on March 6 and is set to conclude on March 27, highlighting the need for all officials to uphold constitutional values.
