Hezbollah Retaliates with Missile Strikes
Hezbollah launched missiles at Israel in retaliation for the alleged killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by the U.S. and Israel. Hezbollah official Mohammed Raad vowed to defend the group's existence at any cost, prompting escalating conflict and mass displacement in Lebanon.
Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group backed by Iran, has launched missiles towards Israel. This act was in retaliation for the reported killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed in strikes attributed to the U.S. and Israel, according to a senior Hezbollah official.
Addressing the situation, senior Hezbollah figure Mohammed Raad declared the group's intent to defend its existence at any cost. This resolution appears to set the stage for a prolonged and intense confrontation.
The missile strikes have resulted in Israeli bombardment of Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut and southern Lebanon, leading to significant displacement as hundreds of thousands flee their homes amid increasing hostilities.
