Judge Rules Against 'Boneless Wings' Mislabeling Lawsuit
A U.S. federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings, where Aimen Halim alleged that boneless wings were misleadingly advertised and are essentially chicken nuggets. The judge ruled consumers are not deceived into thinking these are deboned wings, yet allowed Halim to amend his complaint.
A U.S. federal judge in Chicago has thrown out a lawsuit against Buffalo Wild Wings, in which a customer claimed the term 'boneless wings' was misleading to consumers.
The lawsuit was filed by Aimen Halim in 2023, alleging that the items marketed as boneless wings were, in fact, akin to chicken nuggets.
Judge John Tharp Jr. dismissed the suit, asserting that reasonable consumers wouldn't believe boneless wings are deboned wings. Halim has until March 20 to amend his suit with additional evidence.
