Judicial Review Set to Decide Fate of Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Complex

The Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque complex dispute in Dhar is set to take center stage as the principal bench headed by the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court prepares to hear related cases. Previously managed by the Indore bench, four writ petitions have now been transferred to Jabalpur for a comprehensive review.

Lawyer Vinay Joshi, representing the Hindu Front for Justice, indicates that these cases, alongside a writ appeal already pending in Jabalpur, will be overseen by the highest judicial authority in the state. Crucial to this legal battle is the Archaeological Survey of India's (ASI) report, currently sealed but poised for unsealing as per the Supreme Court's directive.

The controversy hinges on the complex's dual identity; Hindus view it as a temple for Goddess Saraswati, while Muslims assert it is the Kamal Maula Mosque. As the legal process trudges on, both communities continue their religious practices at the site on designated days, abiding by an ASI arrangement established earlier this year.
