A delegation led by Karnataka Minister K H Muniyappa met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Tuesday to seek approval for the Internal Reservation Bill targeting Scheduled Castes. The Bill aims to ensure equitable reservation among 101 sub-castes.
The delegation, consisting of Excise Minister R B Thimmapur, legislators, and community leaders, presented a memorandum at Lok Bhavan asserting the Bill's unanimous passage across both houses of the state legislature with bipartisan support.
The memorandum emphasized the Bill's role in promoting social justice and equality, calling for the Governor's swift assent to address longstanding demands for proportional representation in education and employment.
