Opposition MLA Ashok Dinda Accuses Police of Corruption

BJP MLA Ashok Dinda has been summoned by police authorities in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district to present evidence supporting his allegations that police officers are extorting money from fish-laden trucks in his constituency.

According to Superintendent of Police Mitun Dey, Dinda made these claims during a public meeting, raising concerns about unlawful activities by police personnel stationed in Moyna, his constituency. The police are seeking substantive proof from Dinda to investigate the matter further.

Dinda, however, perceives the summons as a move to harass him, an opposition MLA. He has requested to appear between February 21 and 23, citing prior commitments that prevent him from attending on the initially designated date. A video of Dinda's allegations has circulated widely, fueling public interest in the case.
