Supreme Court Upholds Conviction in 2002 Pratyusha Death Case
The Supreme Court dismissed an appeal challenging the conviction in the 2002 death of Telugu actress Pratyusha, directing the accused, G Siddhartha Reddy, to surrender within four weeks. The court ruled out rape and strangulation but upheld poisoning as the cause of death. Pratyusha's mother alleged foul play was also dismissed.

The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal against the conviction of G Siddhartha Reddy, who was found guilty in the death of Telugu actress Pratyusha in 2002.
On Tuesday, the court ordered Reddy to surrender within four weeks, dismissing claims of rape and strangulation, while confirming that poisoning was the cause of death.
The case has seen several appeals and verdicts, with the Andhra Pradesh High Court reducing Reddy's sentence in 2011. Claims of foul play by Pratyusha’s mother were also dismissed.
