Former New Zealand and Samoa rugby league player Matt Utai is fighting for his life in a Sydney hospital after being shot multiple times in a suspected targeted attack. The brazen incident occurred outside a home in the suburb of Greenacres, leaving Utai with severe injuries requiring emergency surgery.

New South Wales Police have launched a manhunt, suspecting two males—a gunman and a driver in a white SUV—were involved. Superintendent Rodney Hart reassured the public of no ongoing threat, urging witnesses to come forward with information and video footage.
