In a significant breakthrough, Mumbai Police arrested the suspect behind the gunfire at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence during a collaborative multi-state operation with UP and Haryana forces. The operation culminated in the apprehension of Deepak Rameshchandra Sharma of Agra, along with six accomplices.
The prosecution sought police custody of the accused until February 25 to uncover the conspiracy and trace additional suspects, including mastermind Shubham Lonkar. According to officials, the ringleader aimed to establish fear and dominance through the orchestrated threats.
Investigators revealed that the accused maintained minimal communication to evade detection. Coordination among multiple crime branch teams led to these arrests, though Lonkar remains a fugitive wanted in multiple high-profile crime cases.
