In a heated confrontation in the West Bank, Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 14-year-old Palestinian boy, the Palestinian health ministry confirmed. The incident occurred in the village of Al-Mughayyir during an Israeli military raid, as reported by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The Israeli military claimed their forces were responding to reports of Palestinians throwing stones and blocking roads. Warning shots were reportedly fired before the soldiers shot the boy, who was allegedly charging at them with a rock. Attempts to quell the violence turned tragic.
The West Bank has seen a surge in violence over the past year. Israeli settlers' attacks on Palestinians have sharply increased, leading to stricter movement restrictions and more raids by Israeli forces.
