Diplomatic Tensions: U.S. Criticizes South Africa's Expulsion of Israeli Diplomat

The expulsion was based on alleged violations of diplomatic norms, including insults directed at South Africa's president.

The diplomatic fallout escalated as Israel in turn expelled South Africa's senior diplomatic representative.
