Russian Air Defenses Thwart Ukrainian Drone Attack on Moscow
Early Saturday, Russian defenses intercepted three Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow, according to the city's mayor. The Defense Ministry reported the destruction of 38 drones in areas including Crimea, annexed in 2014, and two southern Russian regions. Experts are inspecting drone fragments.
In a pre-dawn operation on Saturday, Russian air defenses successfully intercepted three Ukrainian drones aimed at Moscow, as confirmed by the city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, on Telegram.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that within a three-hour window, a total of 38 Ukrainian drones were neutralized across two southern Russian regions and the Crimea territory, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
Specialist teams are currently deployed to examine the remains of the downed drones to gather more information about the attempted strikes.
