In a concerning escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has reportedly launched drone attacks targeting Moscow for a second consecutive night, as confirmed by the Russian defence ministry and Moscow's mayor.

The Russian defence ministry stated that its air defence units successfully intercepted and destroyed 17 Ukrainian drones overnight. Among them, one was allegedly en route to Moscow while 13 were located over the Kaluga region, adjacent to the Moscow area. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin conveyed on Telegram that emergency crews responded swiftly to the site where the drone was downed.

There were no reports of damage, although it is rare for Russia to disclose full details of Ukrainian strikes on its territory, especially if no civilians are affected. Air defenses reportedly neutralized another three drones over the Bryansk region, a location bordering Ukraine and Kaluga. Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported one civilian injury from the attack. Both countries deny targeting civilian populations, though the conflict has tragically claimed thousands of lives, predominantly Ukrainian.
