The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly concluded its nine-day session as Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the House sine die on Friday. This session also saw elections for four Rajya Sabha seats from the region.
While the session mainly progressed smoothly, with the House addressing the scheduled agenda, some disruptions occurred. Notably, five government bills were passed, and two private member's resolutions were debated. Of the 41 proposed private member's bills, only eight reached discussion, all of which were either rejected or withdrawn after government commitments.
An incident during the session involved a walkout by BJP members. The walkout ensued after Udhampur MLA Pawan Gupta's motion to discuss flood victim issues was rejected by the Speaker. Despite some contentious moments, Speaker Rather expressed gratitude towards members for their cooperation during the proceedings.
